I’m not one to enter into a popularity contest, not because I think badly of them, quite the opposite.
I don’t enter contests like this because I have always cared more for the well-being of my mental health than winning a popularity contest.

This is my opportunity to share my story with a larger audience.
6 years ago I thought my yoga career had to end because of my hip injury. But it didn’t have to end, I just needed someone to talk to.
I needed a yoga model of what it looked like to overcome a career-ending injury and I never found it.

I needed a yoga teacher to prove to me there was life after injury and I had no one to turn to. This is why I decided to become that model for someone else.
6 years ago people did not talk about 40 year old yoga teachers having both hips replaced and 6 years ago there was not one yoga teacher on the planet still teaching high-energy classes like mine with two new hips.
I know there are yogis and yoga teachers out there living in pain and I know I can help.
This is why I have set aside my views and put myself out there for all to judge because I want to share my story.

Yes the $10,000 would be helpful but it’s the two-page yoga journal spread that made me enter.
I want the opportunity to talk to yogis who are in pain and who live with pain on the daily to give them hope. I can do this with this contest. If my story can help then I have to enter and I have to ask for votes.
Read my entry and if you feel I can help people who suffer from chronic pain then please vote for me.
The vote is free or you can donate to the Veterans Yoga Project ($1=1 vote) to give me extra votes and for you to give love to this amazing group supporting veterans and their families with free yoga classes.
