No one knows how to cure dementia but the one thing specialists agree on for prevention is to be physically and socially active.
Physical activity and social interaction may delay the onset of dementia and reduce its symptoms. This is why it is important to move more, talk to people every day, and aim for at least 150 minutes of exercise a week, for the rest of your life.
It may sound brutal to say “for the rest of your life” but I have to be brutal. We have been raised on 8-minute abs, 6-week weight loss programs, supplements, magic potions and creams and none of it has worked for us! We have fitness and yoga programs and studios everywhere you look, including on the internet. Yet we have more lifestyle related disease in our country, including dementia, than ever before!
